| The guest house was designed to test the passive solar and rainwater catchment principles we intended to use in the main house. It is also the power and water distribution hub for all of the structures on the property. The thermal mass is primarily contained within it's insulated concrete slab which blunts temperature extremes. The guest house allowed us to live on the property during the construction of the main house and to observe the sun, wind and water flows as they affected the immediate microclimate. |
